Guide for New Applicants

Step 1:  Book a viewing of the available unit;

Our team of agents strive to provide flexible hours for showing available units.

You can setup a viewing by reaching out at:

Step 2: After viewing, complete the application form:

After you've viewed the unit, you will need to complete an application if still interested.

The application can be found here: New Tenant Application Form

Our Office Manager will be notified once the application is completed and we will begin our  background check.

Step 3: Provide a credit report for review by our office:

Part of our process is to check your credit. There are various ways our office conducts this check, but currently most Landlords prefer to use SingleKey; a leading tenant screening provider in Canada. You will receive an email that will ask questions for you to answer.

We respect the confidentiality of our applicants, and the information obtained is only used by the Landlord to facilitate their decision making process.

You can read more for yourself here: SingleKey

Step 4: Provide work & previous Landlord references:

All information you provide is voluntary, and the more you provide the easier it is for the Landlord to make decision.

At NovaBit, we understand that everyone has unique circumstances, and there may be times you can't provide certain references. Here's a list of additional information you may provide:

  • An official Employment letter with starting date;
  • Most recent pay stubs;
  • Documentation to show proof of recent residency to Canada;
  • Government Issue ID; and
  • Any other document you feel relevant to provide

Step 5: If successful, prior to moving in checklist provided.

If the Landlord decides to provide you a unit to rent, we will provide a user-friendly checklist of items you are required to complete prior to obtaining your keys.

Items to complete such as:

  • Providing Security Deposit (Equal to months rent);
  • Setting up utilities (NB Power, Internet, etc...);
  • Obtaining Tenants Insurance;
  • Reviewing & Signing the Lease;
  • Reviewing & Signing the Rules & Regulations (ie. Schedule A);
  • And any other steps required based on your circumstances.

Don't worry, at any step if you're not sure what to do, always feel free to reach out to our team.

Thank you!
